The town of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina is located in Dare County and is part of the popular vacation destination area known as the Outer Banks. Kitty Hawk’s sister city is Coulaines, France which lies less than two miles north of Le Mans. The city motto appropriately enough is “First in Flight” as Kitty Hawk was the nearest settlement, at the time, to the location of the famous first flight of the Wright brothers.
